I got the Tripp Trapp high chair with the baby set and for $319, you do get what you pay for: quality, aesthetics, longevity, and durability.
This high chair checks off all the points I looked for in a quality high chair for my little one.
This is one of the most important things I looked for in this high chair. We want our daughter to be as independent as possible and the Tripp Trapp helps her improve her independence.
We adjusted the seat and footrest so she could get on and off independently. She is not confined or strapped to the chair and this allows for freedom of movement.
So if you want to foster your child’s independence and self-reliance from an early age, then this is the high chair you need
We used to have a standard high chair with a bulky tray which affected the proximity to the table and made it hard to feed our baby.
The Tripp Trapp high chair is designed to bring our little one close to the table and allows her to sit at the same level as us.
This also supports our daughter’s independence and self-feeding. I didn’t think it was important until we began baby-led weaning.
She was able to reach for her food and utensils and this improved her overall feeding experience.
This was important for me because believe it or not, the foot position and ergonomics will affect your baby’s eating experience.
Our daughter was able to sit for longer periods and eat calmly because the adjustable footrest helped her sit comfortably and have good posture while eating.
Unlike typical high chairs, the footrest prevents her legs from dangling or getting tired and I can adjust the seat and footrest to fit her height as she grows.
You can simply use the Allen wrench that comes with the high chair or a power drill and remove the screws.

I hate it when I have to dig into small crevices which is often hard to do.
Your baby is going to get food smeared everywhere and if you don’t clean it right, the high chair is going to accumulate gunk and bacteria.
But the Tripp Trapp is very easy to clean. We simply use baby-safe cleaning products like the CleanSmart Toy Disinfectant Spray and wipe off the messes.
The cushion is wipeable but you can also machine wash it so it stays looking good and clean.
There were some minor inconveniences but honestly, they didn’t affect my buying decision.
I did a lot of research on this high chair and no one mentions this.
One thing I want you to consider is the height of your table. If you have a high dining table like I do, the Tripp Trapp will be too low and your child won’t be able to reach their food.
The high chair is 32.5in high and our table is over 41in high, so we had to adjust my daughter’s weaning table so we could use the Tripp Trapp.
